100 Onces - 100 One Says

100 Onces is a math/experimental/prog-rock band from Los Angeles, California. Richard Ray -Sea Monkey See drummer- plays in this project also, so if you've listened to them before, now you might have an idea of how this band sounds like. When I first listened to this made me feel like if I was 18 years young again.
Too much writing. Check them out.
Favorite track: Djimi Hendrix

Sea Monkey See

This three piece band is probably what would have been born out of Tera Melos and The Fall of Troy.
They play mostly using the happy/mathy/melodic riff resource like those that can be heard in some Tera Melos' songs, also incorporating some group vocals. If you'd like to listen to a more distorted guitar math band, and more cymbals in it, this one is for you. Make sure to check out all of their albums

Nico Mercado -EP

Let me introduce you to my solo proyect, this is where I kinda solved my "identity crisis". It has seven tracks divided into four instrumental songs and three interludes. It's a mixture of Prog/Experimental/Psychedelic/Rock. If you like chaotic guitars at some point there are some agressive passages as on you can listen to on the intro for Cura Te Ipsum, as you can also listen to some soft atmosferic conections between verses on other songs, or minimal scary reversed noises.
Some Influences: The Mars Volta, The Fall of Troy, Zechs Marquise, Dream Theater, Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, Mike Patton.

Tales - EP

Hey guys, I know it's been a while. This time I'll show you my first EP. It's a passage of a progressive/posthardcord-ish/experimental/and whatever-you-like-to-label mixture. The name 'Tales' comes out of the spanish word 'instrumentales' (plural of instrumental) -nothing to do with tales. Yeah I know it's maybe kinda lame, but I'll keep it that  way for now until a new better idea comes out of my mind. Hope you take a listen to it, criticize, etc, and of course enjoy it!

Check it out on Soundcloud

Save Us From The Archon - How Terrible, The Undergrowth's Jaws That Tangle.

This Experimental/Post-hardcore/Progressive band is totally recommended to CHON fans, and also to you if you dig progressive and technical guitar riffs and solos. Just go check them out.

TFoT - Live@London (Epic Moment)

Well, I was once told about an epic footage in which Thomas pushed a guy off of the stage for touching his pedals, but never found a proof of it until now. I was sent this video of TFoT in which they feature their song A Man, a Plan, a Canal, Panama, during the pre-Manipulator era. At the part in which Thomas begins using one of his Line 6 pedals a kid touches one of them... and you know the rest of the story. (About min 4:24)

Tim Ward: Trash Kids - Get Lost EP

I know some of you still wondering what has been Timothy Ward up to lately. He used to be making music under the name of Messedupcoyote, which was a sort of dead wave/electro-punk project. Now, he's been involved in this new proyect named Trash Kids, which consists basically of him and The Parallax View, related to psychedelic, drone, electronic music:

Timothy Ward:

"I sing, play guitar among many other things
its a collab project with a friend
2 man super group
myself and the parallax view
messedupcoyote + parallax view = trash kids"

Tyler Koykas - Beats, Samples, Synths, Keys, Guitar, Bass, Backup, Vocals, Mixing
Timothy Ward: Lead Vocals, Lead Guitar, Standup Bass, Siled Guitar, Backup Keys & Syunths, Lyrics

Cegonha - Demo

There is a new band in the Portugal area, influenced mainly by The Fall of Troy and ATD-I, their sound is pretty original and powerful. Definitely you should support these guys.
André Pimentel:
"Cegonha was born in January 2012 , and from the start it's objective was to play a fusion of styles that they liked and make some fun music out of it. Cegonha's influences are maindly Fall of Troy , At The Drive-in, Orchid, Bloc Party, Jamiroquai, And So I Watch You From Afar and many others."

You can also support these guys by voting on them on so they can play a show on a local festival (that really would mean a lot to them):
